Density Freight-Class Calculator & Chart

Freight shipments are assigned a freight class. Freight classes are defined by the National Motor Freight Traffic Assocation(NMFTA) as part of their National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) system. The freight class of your shipment is used to determine the shipping charges. There are 18 different classes that range from 50(least expensive) to 500(most expensive). The freight class is determined by its contents, weight, and density.

Use our Density Freight-Class Calculator to determine the Pounds per Cubic Foot and the freight class.

If the shipment is palletized, use the dimensions of the pallet, the combined height of the carton + the pallet, and the total weight of the shipment.
